QFT Research Atlas

Explore the questions that drive quantum field theory research, the methods used to address them, and the evidence behind competing answers. Start with a field guide for orientation, or go directly to a question, method, or evidence comparison.

Evidence cutoff. These assessments include sources available through 11 August 2026. Read each page’s scope and source selection before applying its conclusions.

For a theory’s defining ingredients and characteristic phenomena, use Models. For definitions, formulas, and conventions, use Reference. Open the Library menu for detailed derivations and systematic subject treatments.

Each assessment identifies the theory, dimension, regime, observable, and assumptions that control its conclusion. Read the conclusion together with:

  1. the evidence cutoff and sources considered;
  2. the background links explaining the concepts used;
  3. the uncertainties and shared inputs that limit comparisons; and
  4. the decisive next test that could strengthen, weaken, or resolve the claim.

Terms such as established, supported, contested, and open apply within the stated scope. Two analyses can agree because they share data or assumptions; disagreement can reveal an overlooked systematic or a mismatched observable. The detailed pages explain these dependencies and retain serious contrary evidence.

The field guides range from precision scattering and gauge dynamics to quantum matter, quantum information, curved spacetime, holography, and mathematical QFT. Evidence comparisons include experimental tests, lattice and bootstrap benchmarks, formal inequalities, and claims that span several methods.

Dedicated evidence briefs on electroweak vacuum metastability, conformal-window determinations, and real-time quantum simulation are not yet included; related discussion appears in the fields, questions, and methods chapters. This collection is a selected entry into the literature, not a systematic review of all QFT research.
